Overview
The client
Bezpoke Crete is an owner-led studio in Pretoria making bespoke concrete countertops, basins, furniture, tiles and architectural features for homes and commercial spaces across South Africa.
The business sells to two audiences at once: homeowners renovating premium spaces, and architects, interior designers and quantity surveyors specifying for their clients.
Bezpoke Crete creates visually distinctive, permanent pieces. A generic trade or construction website would have undercut the perception of that craftsmanship before a single conversation happened.
The website also had to do commercial work: explain a sample-first process that most competitors do not offer, reassure two very different audiences, and turn interest into project enquiries.
The approach
How we thought about it
We made the website an extension of the product. Dark, tactile, restrained, with the photography of finished pieces carrying most of the visual weight.
The page order follows the buyer’s mind: what the studio makes, why custom concrete goes wrong elsewhere, the sample-before-deposit guarantee, then the work, then who it is for, then the process.
Every section ends in a way that makes ‘Start a Project’ the natural next step, without shouting.
Design direction
Important decisions
A near-black ground with warm photography, a high-contrast serif for headlines and an italic emphasis phrase that gives each heading a single moment of personality.
Numbered process steps, hairline dividers and generous spacing give the page an architectural rhythm rather than an agency-template feel.
The photo gallery is presented in a strict grid so the pieces themselves provide colour and texture.
Build
Key functional decisions
Two audiences, one journey
Dedicated ‘homeowners’ and ‘trade and specifiers’ sections speak to each audience without splitting the site in two.
Project enquiries
A ‘Start a Project’ path on every page, with a form structured around the brief, the space and the timeline.
Editable galleries
Work and product galleries the owner can grow as new pieces are finished.
Mobile experience
Designed beyond
the desktop.
On a phone the dark palette and large serif headlines hold their impact, with the process and guarantee sections restacked so the reasoning stays readable.
Outcome
What changed
Bezpoke Crete now has a website that matches the standard of its work and presents a clear, confident case to both homeowners and design professionals.
